Honestly I wouldn't waste your money on a cam until you pull the head off and do some good porting to it. The heads are the real restriction in this engine, the cam is actually quite a good grind stock. With some basic portmatching on the head and some reshapeing of the intake port and a good valve job the engine will really light up. If you have this done though, be sure it is by someone who knows what they are doing with the ford 2.3 heads. No matter what else you do to the engine you really won't get any gain until you get the head taken care of.

I agree that placing a cam on a stock head is kind like putting exhaust on a stock Honda. However, MINOR intake work is all it takes!
I had my upper and lower intake manifolds ported and matched to my head (2.5) when I was installing Forged internal parts for the N2O. I considered a cam from Racer Walsh, but after speaking with their experts I decided the N20 would be enough!
