Speaking of cruise control, is it possible to install it on a '95 4 banger automatic? I've seen some kits, but they were all in the hundreds. Would they even work on a Ranger? Do they make a kit for under $100?

I myself wanna know about installing cruise controll on a truck that came from the factory w/o it. My truck is a 94 3.0 5spd and id like to have cruise. I know that some 5spd rangers do have them, cause i test drove a 1995 4.0 5spd that did and it was stock... I have seen the cruise control kits in i think jc whitney and summit and really wanna know how well this would install on a ranger too and if its compatable.....

http://www.jcwhitney.com/Cruise-Controls/600000566.jcw This is from jc whitney. most kits there are around $150-200. I personally would like the first kit(dash mounted) cause i dont care for the turn signal mount type

I love how my stock cruise contol is mounted on the steering wheel. It is very easy to use. Maintaining highway speeds is difficult for me sometimes because it seems the 4.0 OHV has no upperend power but the cruise control takes that problem away. (And no, my stock cruise control has not lit my truck on fire or blown it up).

To answer your question I have seen a four banger ranger with the stock cruise control online when looking at used trucks, it was an xlt 4x4 manual.

My 95 has factory cruise, use it every day - 2.3 5 Sp. The switches are on the steering wheel. ON-Off on the left side Res-Set-Coast on the right with green backlighting. I have seen a couple other 95 2.3 sticks with it, but i havent seen any 94 or earlier.

My 99 4 banger 5 speed doesn't have it nor the pre-wiring for it. I wish it did because I would put it in a heart beat. Mine is also XLT.

I retrofitted my 93 5Spd with Factory Cruise. Every 5spd car or truck I've ever driven has had cruise :) That said, my poor 2.3 is probably the worse with it since 5th gear has so little power.
