Problem with 3.0 V6

It's a 99 ranger flex fuel 3.0 v6

A freeze plug on the passenger side went, behind the motor!

A friend of mine started tearing stuff apart (I don't know what I'm doing) and he never came back to pull the engine (I use the term "friend" very loosely).

Is there an easier way to change the freeze plug? If not, what do I have to do to pull the motor? He left the cherry picker here so I do have that and the basic tools he used to pull the other parts.

I don't know my way around an engine however I do know my way around tools.

Also, can someone direct me to the replacement part? I don't even know what part I need.
