it may be a litle expensive but i'm gonna retrofit one of these to my 06' 3.0 ranger http://store.summitracing.com/partde...X%2D40&FROM=MG i'd get the one fron jusnes but i don't like the idea of mounting it directly to the radiator. plus the mounts on this look nicer than a direct mount.

Most people here went with Jusnes
I have a write up on the e-fan install on my car domain

Tyler, I hear you and went your rout. The problem with the fan you listed- I know of two cases where blades broke off the fan. It becomes a $200 piece of junk that vibrates your truck to pieces. Jusnes has a circle of plastic attached to the perimeter of each blade. I would imagine that strengthens it tremendously.
The best scenario (given your concern) is to use a taurus fan from the wrecking yard. It slides into your existing fan shroud and you can bolt it to the shroud. Nothing goes through the radiator.

i might look for one, but i think i'm gonna just break down and get the jusnes e-fan. it looks like it sits about a 1/4 inch off the radiator with the right mounting tabs..... i want to order it tommorrow cause i'm gonna order the underdrive pulley set for my 3.0 from you guys tommorrow and i wanna put them on at the same time!!!! do you have the red set in stock for the 3.0?????

I don't know the years. Some had dual fans, some had a single fan. The single fan can be attached to the shroud. I saw two of them at a meet in Houston and was- that's cool! One of them happened to be whippled which made it cooler.
Mounting it- remove the shroud and set the fan in it. While it is sitting in there, drill a couple of holes through the fan and shround and place bolts in it. Past that, there is two wires- a positive and a ground. Any fan controller will work on it. I'm not sure if Jusnes sells one separately. If they don't, advance auto has some on the shelf.
S-10 guys have been doing this for years with their 4.3L motors. It'll handle our engines.

flex-a-lites flx-180 also works very well and looks very clean, almost looks like it came from the factory. I prefer this fan because of the surface area of the shroud, almost covers the entire radiator. The flx-130 or 30 is a bit cheaper and also works well, but with the blade design it makes an awful noise when it comes on. The flx-180 looks much better and is A-LOT quieter, yet moves much more air. Also, the flx-180 does not use the cheap through the radiator mounting. It bolts on to existing holes on your truck. I did have to modify one of the brackets to accept the power steering resivor though.

just put an e fan on last night. went the autozone way and got the fan and controller there........ yeah i guess i got the "cheap fan" but its on the truck and works well. well atleast the truck hasn't overheated and stays in the same temp range. it makes quite a difference in the way it runs. totally worth it. the pulleys should be here next week!!!!
