Squeaking from rear of engine on a 94 3.0
Squeaking from rear of engine on a 94 3.0
Hey guys,
I've recently been spending some time fixing a bunch of a little issues on my 94 Ranger. Gotten a ton of help from this and other forums, but haven't had any luck with this particular issue. Searching has found me TONS of threads of people having a similar squeak from the Camshaft Synchro, but from what I can tell that only applies to the 95+, as mine still uses a distributor.
But regardless, I'm experiencing a squeak from the rear of the engine very similar to what's described in all of those threads. Is it possible that the distributor could make almost an identical squeak? Is it something that can be serviced, or am I better off just replacing it? How tough of a job would it be?
Thanks so much for any help you guys can provide!

if you can zero out your crank then no timing will have to be redone. there are markings on the crank pully, and if you zero it, and your new distributor then you'll be fine. not that hard of a job, helps if you take the hood off and sit on the windshield. gives you a better view.
