dual exhaust and cold air intake???

im looking into getting my truck to breath a little more. it doesnt run at its best and i hooked it up to a scaner and says its not getting good air through it thats why my service engine light is on. im looking into a air intake system and either dual exhaust or just new muffler and run it out the sides but i was wondering does it give you more power and truck run any better? do you guys like yours?

if it's not getting enought air.....have you checked your panel air filter???? Also likely that the MAF is dirty too.

I know i don't have a 3.0L, but all should be the same no matter what engine......more air in and more air out.....more air = more power....more efficient engine. Simple as that. I believe 3.0's call for a 2.25 single exhaust. Or 2.25 in/2.0 out muff, with 1.75 or something tailpipes.

K&N intakes are usually around $200 for our trucks.....Exhaust is another story. Some shops are cheap....some expensive. Take mine for instance....I was quoted $600 at one shop, $500 at another.....and few others were in the $300 range. All were aluminized 16ga tubing 2.5" in/2.25" out......and those prices were without tips. I got my single 2.5 catback hung for $150, and my muff was $60 off ebay, and my tip was $25. Dual costs more.

You can get those gibson kits...or magnaflow kits. I believe the gibson's start at like $250 and go up to like $500. The magnaflow kits are all like $600....But i've never really got quotes. But I rather go the all custom route at a shop where they make the bends and all that jazz.

I paid around $340 total for both my exhaust and my MAC cold air intake, I wouldn't buy K+N cuz your just paying for the name, my intake cost me $150 from underdog, and its cheaper if you go to a muffler shop and have them install your exhaust vs. going to a place like midas. I would bet its cheaper not to buy an exhaust system unless you are going to weld it on yourself.
