i dont have the code it was a test . then whe know that the problem was that sensor .

im waiting my odb2 cable to arrive.

the Symptoms where for 100 meters the truck accelerate and slow , then the check engine light up.

a ford mechanic clear de check engine . then whe know who was causing the check engine.

for a couple of days was all ok.
but then the check engine lights on ,

i know that this controls the egr sensor.
i can clean it , or the only solution is to change it?

Thx José

I dont know how things work were your at. If you can find the part number for the original and check it against the one you have you will know. Or go and look at the one you can get and see if it fits. I have an 2002 4.0 and when I bought mine it was the same sensor for 01-04 according to what the parts guy told me.

^^dont even know! lol. Would like to know as well. What's DPFE stand for anyway?

Jose: You could probably get it at your local Ford dealer...might be the same exact thing as the US spec ranger for the same model year and same engine. OR check out some of the discount OEM Ford replacement part stores online. I dont have any links because I havn't a clue on the correct site...hopefully someone will chime in with links for ya. I think one is 1stfordparts.com ?

Usually the code you get for a DPFE sensor is p0401 egr insufficient flow, or there is a code for too much flow i dont know off of the top of my head. If the engine is running rough, you could have a problem with the EGR valce, and the DPFE sensor is doing its job by telling you this. if it is running rough, the egr valve could be stuck open. you should clean the EGR valve itself first, make sure the pintle is closing and seating properly and the connectors/vacuum lines going to it are not broken
