Puked Oil from bottom of head and top of block
As the title says I'm getting a Ranger with the 4.0 in it and I was told it puked Oil from where the head meets the block. This is head gasket correct? Truck was taken extremely good care of so I know its not a leaky valve cover gasket. While replacing head gasket if it is the issue what else should I look for? I'm completely new to the 4.0 motor. Thanks for help/info in advance

Ok so update on info on my motor issues, It was originally leaking Coolant from between the head and block then Auto parts store talked him into using Alu-ma Seal. It was working great then on his way home say 2 mile drive the oil light came on and smoke was coming from under the hood apparently the manifold was covered in oil. He said as soon as he saw the oil light come on he pulled over and had the truck Towed home. Now am I correct for still assuming this is a head gasket job? Warped head? Cracked head? Or am I getting into a bit more with this Rig? The truck is immaculate, transmission was just overhauled less then 12k miles ago, family friend took really good care of the truck. He just took this break down as a sign to buy a new rig. I do want to note that the truck NEVER over heated on him.

Didnt want to say anything because I have zippo knowledge of the 4.0, but this sounds straight forward enough. Most headgaskets Ive seen leak externally were coolant leaks. Oil leaks happen, but they're usually very slow. Unless a valve cover gasket blew, ive never seen a gusher like you described. Either way, I think your correct in calling it a head gasket. If I was the one doing the work, I'd pressure wash and degrease the engine really good, then top off the oil and coolant. Put a pan under the engine and have a helper fire it up so you can hopefully see instantly where and what the leak is (and stop the engine faster). Just my $0.02... good luck

Thanks Always Dirty for the reply here's my plans
Pull motor
Clean entire thing
respray Ford Blue
replace few gaskets just so I know there new
pressure wash engine bay
Then reassemble
Was thinking about trying to find some headers and a cam but keep coming up empty on the headers. Found a few Cams but none really seem tobe good with a Auto =/
