2001 ford ranger ABS

Hi Guys I need some help here, I did a V8 swap and the problem I'm having is after I swap out the ABS from 1998 Explorer into the Ranger it will not go into gear and the ABS light is on , it starts up ok, it worked fine before I did the ABS swap, the one came with the Ranger said 4x4 on it and the Explorer is AWD if this matters?....So please if someone can help me out here?

It turns out,I had 2 things going on at once, The reason the truck would not go out of park is I have a bad shift lock solenoid, thanks to A1 auto for helping me out on this.

Hi guy, I swapped a 97 5.0 into my 98 ranger and I thought of switching all under hood stuff , so I didn't have to splice in a few different connectors. I changed back to ranger stuff and left ranger abs in, however I'm not sure my abs works now..lol. if I have to spike the brakes they do lock up..oops.

If your ABS is working under hard braking it should sound and feel like your driving over railroad tracks. also you should have an ABS light come on, when you start your truck up from what I have read the ABS will do a self check.
