Short answer. Don't. I'd kill to have FI again.

But if you must, my stock heads bolted right up to the Edelbrock performer 302, so I assume any carb'd 302 intake would jive.

Don't quote me on that though.

As for the gauges, all mine are custom aftermarket so I couldn't tell you.

I just really wouldn't do it, especially if it's an off road truck, not with a street carb. I have an edel 650 and anytime I hit an incline my foots gotta be in it.

What ever happened to that whole turbo idea? You go through ideas about as fast as I do. My truck was getting tubbed and blown at least 6 times in the last year. Yet it still sits pretty much the same, it's hard getting rid of a perfectly capable off road vehicle.

I am at a loss - why??? let me add a few more ???

If you have a fully functional EEC-V EFI system in your truck with the 4R70W, why go to a carb and C4? Better off just shooting yourself in the foot.

There is not benefit to the carb, especially in Michigan, where we have such temperature swings.

The 4R70W to C4 swap is even more bewildering ...

Isn’t there a diffrence in the cam profiles between EFI and Carb ?

Something about Lope Separation.

then take it to a shop or do some research to better understand whats going on with your truck. swapping to a carb is such a big step backwards

Well you will need to change the harmonic balancer. As the expo stuff runs a different weight compared to other SBF, not sure how that effects your 306. If your short block was designed for the lighter balancer you may have no choice but to ditch the efi as the crank trigger is in the expo balancer.
The ford letter cams are made for lighter cars, look for something different with more low end torque.

The EARLY 289/302s maybe ran 28oz, but all recent ('80s/90s) 5.0L engines were 50oz. The 351W was 28oz. No issue running an explorer damper with a 306.
