Mustang 302 Wiring question

So my buddy is selling his 302 out of his 87 fox body to me for 300. i read as much as i could about tranny, motor mounts, efi, pcm, etc. the only thing is that most everything on here is for explorer setups, (and i know i will have to use some explorer parts to make it work easier) but the real question is how do i make the wiring from the 302 work on my 00 3.0 2wd xlt? i have everything set out, and a certified ford technician will be assisting me in the swap, but i need to know more about the wiring in this case.

PS srry everyone.....long time no post. been incommunicado for the past few months.

Well wiring can b a little tricky for swapping a V8 into a Ranger. U using a Carb or fuel injection? ask that question bcause it can make a world of differance when wiring. recomend buying a hotrodding type magazine that has advertisers for wiring like painless, Ron fransis etc. call them up and ask a few questions. some u can wire a whole truck/car in a weekend including power windows and stuff like that. Explorer Motor and tranny Mounts will be what u'll need. It also depends on what size V6 u have. U might need to use a 289 instead of the 302. both use the same firing order, block, pistons etc. the only differences between them are power and the intake manifold. Usually u can get a complete kit that starts at about $250.00 bucks. Here's another option u might want to look at as well. Stroke it. Which is easy to do. u'll be able to keep everything u have but U can stroke it to about 383 C.I.D.. Anymore would be insane (unless ur crazy like me).

However to say using a 289 vs. a 302 is about as stupid as I've heard.
