Ford racing crate engine
What do you think of the new ford racing 347 crate engine for and engine swap into the ranger?
link here;
Ford Racing Performance Parts
Will it fit and with how much modification to the engine bay? I have a 1994 4.0 4x4.
What else would I need to switch to make it work and have it be reliable, it's my daily driver? I'd also like to keep it a manual transmission.
Thanks

You would definately have to get another vehicle. This wouldn't be a 2 week swap unless you had absolutely everything in order (no one does even when they think they do). Wiring would all have to be re-done. Best thing to do if you want to go all custom would just be to completely strip your ranger of all electronics and build it from the ground up. It would be easier then trying to figure out all that wiring and what ecu to use and how to hook it all up to work right. Search the 302 swap. Tons of info and way more ideal.

search function....use it
read around a bit before you start buying stuff and hacking up your truck
i'm not trying to be rude but just from this thread it appears you have more money than brains
or youre at least a big dreamer...which so not a bad thing at all, we all have big dreams of what we want our trucks to be, but there's what we want....and what we can actually do
i was once a noob and wanted to throw a 302 in one of my old my trucks....its not just a bolt in and go sort of project....do your research, find out what parts you need and if they can handle the power you're gonna throw at it then piece it together....i ended up just building up the 2.3 i had and it had all the power i needed
a lot of these project trucks you see on here take months even years to build.....its not something that can be done in a weekend, especially with a 4x4....
if you do go for it....i highly suggest getting another DD...

Well I got my answer, in the fact that this isn't really something that I have the ability to undertake as I don't have another car or the shop/tools to do it. Quess I should look at saving money for something that is performance oriented from the factory rather than rebuild my truck. I'm thinking new camaro one day as I love the way they look and they have plenty of power and keep my truck stock as a nice reliable driver and maybe have a shop put a new stock motor in it one day if it ever dies on me.
