how hot do amps get
ive got 2 10" kicker l5's wired at 1 ohm. the amp i got is the kcker zx 750.1. it says its not 1 ohm stable but i heard for normal use it should be fine. i wont be using but prolly three or four times a week. ii have just finished it prolly 2 days ago. the longest ive ran it is about 30 mins. it was just a little warm. i guess what im asking is under normal conditions how hot do amps normally get. i dont want to blow the amp.

well i ordered 2 ohm subs but they sent me 4. so im guessin there are 2 and 4. i didnt wanna havta wait a month to get the other ones so i just rewired these for 1 ohm. i checked the resistance after i rewired them and it showed 1 ohm. and on the magnet it also says 4 ohm so i guess there are 2 and 4

they go into protect mode before they get to hot, i melted a fuse today.....
im about to take em apart and put some arctic silver compound on the heat sinks.

If the amp isn't rated for 1ohm loads, you're definitely going to do harm to the amp. It might last a year, it might last a week, but you'll definitely shorten the life of the amp (and possibly the subs)
Unless you're doing some heavy competition & want to stay in a low wattage class, you really don't need to run an amp at 1ohm.
You should be able to run both of those 4ohm subs in parallel for a 2ohm mono load, which your amp should handle. Unless they're 4ohm dual coil, (sorry, I'm not familiar with the exact subs here) then you could do a series-parallel thing & be around 4ohms.
Most amps will run warm after a while, but if it's hot enough to melt a crayon....that's too hot.
Better to be safe than burned alive.
