Yeah if you don't need a new headunit and want to spend as little as possible I would just use the stocker.

Get two sets of components it might be enough for ya! and will sound amazing!

No you don't, or atleast not always. You can do 2 preouts to the 4 channel amp, and then connect the sub amp to the outputs on the 4 channel amp.

Thats a waste if he's running them off of the stock headunit and not amped.

yeah stock head unit. im not getting an amp either. i think i will just get 6x8 pioneers for the rear and that should help

something i was thinking about in my head, with having a sub, withough loosing the jump seats etc.
I vurrently have 2 12" alpines, only 1 in the truck, and it takes over my jump seat.

But what i was thinking, not sure if it could work. But.

Get 1 or 2 10" subs, and build boxes for them, trying to keep it as slim as possible, and have the subwoofer, imbeded into the box. Then detach the jump seat, so it doesn't fold up againts the back wall, and secure it on top of the box...obviously i would need to secure the box to the floor.

ahh right, didn't even stop to look at the vehicle year haha, I still plan on doing that in my future, if it will work, i havent done all the measuring yet tho.

also, i agree with you, if all you are going to use it for is listening to the radio, i would just stick with speakers...maybe try to get a better speaker out of it... then later when/if you want a sub, then get a new deck

yeah i dont really even need a sub, i rarely listen to music with alot of bass. strict country boy here

If you are looking for a cheap head unit... I think i got my Dual head unit for like 68 bucks off ebay and that was shipped to me, had the dash kit, and the wiring harness so i could hook it into the OEM and not cut any wires... I got it off ebay so i will have to look up the name of the ebay store. But my Dual is a great HU and it was cheap and i am also running 2 sets of 5x7 infinity speakers that sound great, but i might be trading them out for the alpine type-r 5x7 which are about 150 a pair

Both of those are cheap...if you can I would spend the extra money for the Alpine or Pioneer. The Kenwood ones are decent too. I hated my sony one I had

The display was terrible, text on the buttons wore off after a few months, it had this stupid glowing white eye thing that wouldn't dim or turn off. I didn't keep it for long, I upgraded to a full double din after that.

I actually have one that was even cheaper then that but that will work... i actually had that one in my previous ranger and it sounded great and i loved the fact that the HD Radio is built in, there is nothing extra you have to hook up.... so i think the Dual Head Units are good if you want a cheap head unit that will work

yeah you have to have paypal..... but if you dont have one, it only takes about 15 minutes to make one so you can just make one while you are trying to buy the Head Unit
