Plexy-glass.....

Plexy-glass.....

anyone know were to get a piece of plexy glass for audio installations?

and should i use 1/4", 1/2", or 3/4" plexy glass for my Kicker L5 sub...i want to install it on the backside of the box so you can see the magnet.......i will be making the box out of 3/4" MDF board...

Home depot or the like should sell it in small sheets. I would go with ~ 3/8" plexi or lexan.

lexan that mo..lay vinyl on it paint..throw some neon/LEDs behind that mo shine

OR

get plexi and take hammer and chip the ends..light behind it looks like ice..ill get a pic..ive got one somewhere

look at there slide shows..its the ones with the plastic on the bottom of the amps

maurice..no offence DONT GO WITH 3/8 youll bust the seals even with an L5 my l7's busted the seals on 3/4 MDF and that screwed glued and all siliconed on the inside these things move wayyy to much air..id seriously go 3/4 piece for viewing and make sure its on good..id rather have the extra protection insted of death of 3/8's buy my L7 the backs are pretty !

and you wont get anything over 1/4" from home depot, at least not at the ones ive been to

store that makes fish tanks. or try like ace hardware or lowes maybe. i would say 3/4 inch also. better safe than sorry.

ok figured it out, only one slideshow is comin up and its the one on the left, the one on the right isnt showin up...refreshed it and nothing..

i think this is it..05 version it looked like..i may be wrong..


my L7 backs..i also have the grilles shown painted Sonic Blue and Clear coated

Maurice - My father and i own a glass company...(speaking from experience)...I wouldnt go withh ANYTHING below 3/4" plexi-glass depending on the overall size of it. If its a small area that you are trying to cover with the plexi, 3/4" should be OK.

there not..there sexC..ill stand by my L7 and its looks haha..Oh i ment to mention last time i was at the car audio shop here in town i was told with how much these things flex..to double up 3/4 on the top of the box or whatever side the sub is being mounted too... i couldnt remember the reason why..but yea no less then 3/4 im tellin ya..i wanna see pics of the surprise too!
