Series Parallel wiring help !
Ok ..I need help ...I have six subs 4 ohms each . I wired two in series then in parallel with one ...2.666ohms ...but I did it twice then I wired them in parallel 2.6 -2.6 which gave me 1.3 ohms...my amp is one ohm stable ..but the speakers wired in parallel to the series ones have more movement ..and in my eyes(ears) more power ...(they are also the new speakers...) ...my amp has two + and - so one set is wired to a plus and minus and the other set to another ...
Do I need to wire them all together then run wires to my amp? Or could it possibly be because two subs are new ? Hopefully I made sense. Thanks . oops I forgot speakers are the same type...
EDIT ...I had series parallel connection XD ..so the ones hooked up in parallel were getting more power Seems I forgot everything I learned in Electronics class . hooked em up all parallel ... .66 ohms...sounds great !!
Please close thread. Thanks.

if you wire it the first way you have listed the thwo subs in series will have less power than the third in parallel... theyre are two paths the current can flow on an 8ohm path (two subs in series) and a 4ohm path (the 3rd in parallel) think of it like a hose.. take your faucet and imagine a y splitter coming off of that. one pather lets say is two 50ft hoses connected together and the other path is a less resistant (fatter hose) that is only 50ft in length.. so you have a shorter less resistant path going to one of your subs well this case two of your subs.. which can in turn be in bad for those subs possibly destroying them
