^ This! Right here! Proves my point. Why pay soooo much money for stuff that doesn't hit hard, sounds like poop, and can't take any kind of abuse when you could pay a fraction of the price and get something that's MUCH better?

Here is an example. ****ty alpine mrp-1000 for $300 that does 600w rms a 4 ohm or a audioque that does 510w @ 4 ohm. for $250 how are these amps your talking about that much better??

Don't buy **** just because its not mainstream thats retarded.

What exactly is this graph showing? Haha is this supposed to mean something? I don't buy **** because it's not mainstream. I buy it because it's quality and puts down power for much much cheaper than mainstream.

Its a chart showing the impedence rise in relation to the frequency of music.

Impedence is a measure of DC current resistence of the voice coil.
Music is AC, your precious 1 ohm sub is actually 3-4 ohm when it plays music.

notice how its only at 3ohm at 20hz then rises significantly to almost 18ohms.
most spl guys run a ported box tuned no lower then 30Hz so in all actuality your sub runs at 5 Ohm and only goes up from there.

HAHAHA back at you. jokes on you if you think your getting 2000w from your amp

I am in no way stickin up for mainsteam audio, just disproving that your ultra low ohm capable amps are actually very weak in comparison to a amp rated higher at 4ohm

LOL Do you remember how much of a fool you looked like in your "Truth about Ohms" thread? It's happening again. You should just stop now. You're not making any valid points here.

Yep, which is why im trying for a more civilized conversation, no matter how much someone laughs in my face and pisses me off. even though I feel do like ****ing slapping the **** out of half of you, im trying to be calm.

Yet this seems very familiar to that conversation, I do all of the intelligent talk and you guys laugh and bring nothing to the table. I will give up since im only wasting my time on people who could care less.

You brought something to the table? A half-*** graph means nothing.

WOW! This thread went south really fast. I looks like everyone is right in one form or another. I see his point about the resistance increasing with the frequency (it is true). Perhaps a better way to show it would be a graph of a Sundown sub vs. a high quality "name brand" sub. I also understand how you spl guys are all about power @ 1ohm. I undersand how you this as relative no matter what amp you use and youre right if they were used on the same speakers/subs. Now lets get back to posting up some cool pics of our setups :)

On a final argumentative note, my point I'm trying to make is, I'd much rather spend less money on an amp that can push 1500w+ rms vs spending a lot more money for something mainstream that could do the same thing.

Agreed. I'm working on my current install. Still gathering components though. It'll be a simple little system, much like Grants. No major space taken up but hopefully some nice sound compared to stock. That's all I'm looking for.

GB :)

If you like 8's, get a couple Sundown sa-8's and push 2 of them at about 1k watts. You'll be very happy.

+1 on the sundowns.

The RE 8's are pretty clean soundign too.

I can't resist this though.

These guys aren't loud enough for me though, clean as hell though. I still gotta clean up the wires.

If you want big sound get an extended cab. Plenty of room to work with, well kinda.

It's incredible how many setups you go through trying to get it just right. Between all my vehicals I've had countless sub and amp combos, and lets not even get into components, I used to go through componant setups like crazy.

You won't here me booming 2 blocks away but the sound inside the cab is very clear with good bass.I lost no drivers space with this install.

The seat hits the glass no problem. Tonight was test fit before the final touches router and vinyl the box. Pictures coming soon.
