Pioneer is a very strong company to go with and judging by brands you listed you are looking to spend no more than $150 for a set. there's alot of better companies but they are out of your price range. I'd go with a set of pioneer 3 ways for the rear and save up for some nice components, like Diamond audio or Rainbows.

well i think i have the sub + amp picked out..
i need some pretty good speakers. nice and crisp. no components. not enough mulah, nor do i know how to hook those bad boys up. most likely good 3 way speakers... any suggestions? pioneers seem to be a little cheaper than most. 6 x 8 also
i dunno.. is it hard to put in components? they look hard as hell... do i need an amp for them? im kinda an audio newbie so i really need good feedback.

it depends on ur preference. do u like brassy highs or soft highs? what bout mid bass, soft or tight? how bout mid range?
ur best bet is to head to a few stereo shops with a favorite CD and check em out urself. granted they wont sound exactly the same in ur truck as they did in the store but it'll give u a general idea.
swoop, whats to be leary bout components?

Well i haven't been in to upgrading my audio for a few years now but when i was big into it i loved sound stream i had a couple sets of subs and a friend of mine had the components and the were great. I do know that the company sold out to someone else and i haven't heard any of there new stuff but back in 2000 the spl's were the best sounding things that i had ever heard

also hooking up an amp to your doors isnt as hard as you think. just get enough wire to go from where you mount the amp to the rear of the stereo...then attach them to the wire adapter that is plugged in to the factory harness. that way you dont have to run new wires through your doors.
as for the music... all kinds sounds great...actually i listen to mostly rap but rock and other stuff sounds better on them.

a great sounding set of comps are the www.CDTAUDIO.com get at me i can get most of them for half the price or less. EF or CL they are great and crisp with detailed mids i was skeptical at first but being an car audio installer for over 5 years i had the itchin to try them and hands down sound better than my alpine type-r's, infinity kappas, and JLxlcr comps that i have used in the past. and alot better than any pioneer or sony in that range
