sub options for non-extended cab?

i don't have the extended cab, so a box is out of the question. i've got a kenwood ksc-sw1 in my bmw and it sounds great strapped under the glove compartment. thinking about doing the same thing in the ranger, and just wondering if anyone has had any other ideas.

A box is not out of the question. There a alot of members here that have subs behind the seat of a regular cab. It's doable. I would check into shallow mount subs. JL Audio, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, Pioneer, & Clarion all make shallow mount subs. You could probably run a couple 8's behind the seat, also. If you do some searching on the site you can find some pics of boxes behind the seat.

Good luck!

I put a 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect in my single cab. And now I have a 12" RF (can't recall series). Here is a thread of my install:

I'm using an elemental designs EU-700 (currently modeled as a 7kv2) and it gets the job done. It's a small box 6.5" sub, which recommends a 0.25ft^3 box and can fit (in a wedge box) behind the lower part of the seat, while the upper part of the seat can still fully recline against the back of the cab.

I once made a box for a regular cab s-10. I made a long box that ran from the passenger door to the edge of the driver's seat. It had 1 10" sub in it and really kicked hard. It was too loud to crank it all the way up. A sub in a truck cab is just stupid loud.

Umm I can fit two extremely deep TC-DB500s behind my passenger seat with a box. If you are not planning on a box you will need a free air sub and I dont know anything about those.
