The Full Zaino Process (plus a few pictures)

I did a huge write-up on cleaning the Vette this weekend, and it included the full Zaino process. If any of you have been wanting to see exactly what is involved, dumbed down, please visit this link:

Here are a couple of pictures showing what the Zaino does after just two quick coats of it:

I see the light....
As said, orange peel is notorious for Corvettes, and many people were hoping that they would get rid of it with the new C6 (and Chevy said there would be significantly less of it). However, as you can see in this picture of a new C6, it is still there:
So, in answer to your question Christian, orange peel is a state that the paint goes on the car. Orange peel is, as I understand it, unevenness of the paints surface, which is caused by the paint being put on too thickly, or with not enough solvent, or something along those lines. Hence, it looks like the texture of an orange :)

The best part of Zaino is how long it lasts. This is my truck about 6 weeks after I applied Zaino; all I did was wash it every 2-3 weeks with Zaino Z7 car wash:
I need to get my full review in here to show you guys soon.

Hmmm...Orange Peel effect is from manufacturers drying the paint with either heat lamps/infrared or UV curing to speed up the process it causes the paint to look like the surface of an orange...smooth but dimpled.
Yes the properties of Fiberglass cause it to amplify orange peel, I'm a boater and know all about fiberglass and the varying ways to paint it gel coat it etc...it absorbs heat differently than metal.

i washed my truck the Friday with all (almost) Meguiar's products and my truck is super shiny, all i need to do is get them shoes scuffs buffed out and it will be show shine. If you don't look at the bumper. I used Meguiar's Gold Class car was, Meguiar's NXT Tech protectant, Meguiar's High Gloss Hot Shine Tire Spray, adn Stoner Invisible Glass. I also used all microfiber cloths, and wash sponge. I still need their Gold Class Instant Wheel Cleaner, Heavy Duty Carpet Cleaner, Gold Class Bug & Tar Remover, and their NXT Generation Tech Wax (not the paste). As you can tell im a big fan of Meguiar's, been using them for years.
