Duster

Do you use or would you use a California Car Duster on your truck?

I would, except I've seen my idiot neighbor using one on his Infinity. Ruined it for me.

I bought one years ago and never had any issues with it. I have another one now for the Ranger and the g/f has one for her Civic. They are awesome!!

Some people are just idiots though, the duster is for DUST, NOT DIRT!!! I've seen people use them on dirty vehicles.....HELLO sandpaper!!! Right up there with people that use a towel to clean the dust off......SMACK!!!

I used one for years until the handle broke and it was almost black. They're great, you just gotta be smart about it like others have said and not use it to take dirt off, I also would never dig too hard when using it, even just to take off a fine layer of dust.
And I know they work better the dirtier they get, but at some point years down the road it's gonna get so dirty that it will leave swirls no matter what, and will need replacing

If they are causing swirls or scratches you're not using it correctly. I've used it on my Black Car for years....

Ok so here is the deal...

The California Duster is great to have in the show bag. Good for getting the road dust off at a show or shortly after washing. That is it. The interior one is awesome as well.

I would never use a dry MF towel on my car, even to dust. All that does is create swirl marks and holograms. Always use a liquid lubricant(lol) when using a microfiber. As Stone said, quick detail spray works wonders.

Hope that helps.

Used it on the Ranger and bought a new one for the Merc

So long as its just surface dust it keeps your truck/car looking like it just came from the wash

I dunno, I've tried so many different precautions to avoid swirls and while some measures are effective, it seems like nothing is 100% effective on dark paint except washing AND drying the vehicle hands free. Which is just not an option for me.

Ironic your name is Sean and mine is too. I just sold my 2006 C55 and you just bought one and they were both black :) Now I have a Ranger.
