I am new to owning and caring for a vehicle. I was wondering if you guys had any tips on sanding my bumber and rims to the metal, and then clear coating it? Bad idea? Would it be bad for the strength of the rims?
hEY THATS SOUNDS KINDA COOL & ACTUALLY JUST WATCHED AN EPISODE ON OVERHAULING (dONT KNOW IF YOU SEEN THIS SHOW BEFORE) WHERE CHIP FOOSE DID THAT TO THIS CAR, AND THE EFFECT CAME OUT TO LOOK LIKE ASIF IT WAS ANODIZED METAL - IT WAS COOL !!!. HERES HOW HE DID IT . HE BEADBLASTED (PART) IT DOWN TO METAL, THEN TOOK SOMETHING KINDA ABBRASIVE AND GAVE SINGLE PATERN STROKES (DO NOT GO BACK AND FORTH STROKES LIKE YOUR SANDING). HE APPLIED A ADHESION PROMOTOR AND THEN CLEARED IT WITH 3 COATS OF A URETHANE AUTOMOTIVE CLEAR. IT WAS ACTUALLY KINDA SIMPLE. SO I WOULD SAY GO FOR IT CAUSE ITS ALL ABOUT WHAT YOU LIKE INSTEAD OF OTHER PEOPLE LIKING OR HATING ITM AND IT WONT TKE THE STRENGTH AWAY WHAT SO EVER................. ENJOY
