What kind of noise? Whining? Whirring? Growl? Does it have fluid in it?

Mine has a rolling/hissing sound in 1st 2nd 3rd 5th and reverse but not 4th or when the clutch is disengaged with the truck not moving. I herd someone call it a pocket berring or somthing like that.

Throw out bearing, though i wasn't aware of them making noise when in gear.

The pilot bearing could make noise with the clutch disengaged and in gear with the engine running and the truck not moving. I would expect it to do it in all gears though. The pilot bearing should not be affected by which gear it is in. As soon as the transmission input shaft stops spinning when put in gear with the clutch disengaged, the pilot bearing starts to work.
Unfortunately, replacement of the pilot bearing requires removing the transmission and clutch. It is a lot of work for a little bearing.
