3.73 and 31's?

Finally got my lift today! Just looking for a good tires size, would 3.73 and 31's work out? Planning on putting a K&N filter in it and a bama tuner.

what engine do you have?

i would assume you have either a 3.0 or a 4 banger........it would be ok with a 3.0, but not a 4 banger.....

Nick (Oasis) has a Camburg lift with 31" BFGs. He has a 96 4banger and i know he is still running his stock gearing, he seems to be doing good but i know he eventually wants to re-gear

This prolly sounds like a stupid question but what would be different if i ran 31's on stock gearing?

Running 31s vs Stock tire size will make your rear axle work harder to spin the tires. Gearing down allows it to deliver more low end power to the larger tires allowing you to accelerate better and easier on your truck

[i think]

So basicially your acceleration and overall power will be less then with stock tires

You should be ok running stock gearing but definitely start saving for some new ones.

As for cost, im not too sure, never looked into that personally [others should chime in]

That will correct your spedo, but as soon as you put in a new set of gears it will be off again.

that will not correct your speedo. if i remember, its got a speedo gear, and not a electric speedo. Youll be fine with your stock gearing on your truck. yes it will lag, but its definately tolerable. youll just have to live with the speedo being off, unless you can find someother way around it.

your speedo will read slower than your going, and its depends on what speedo your going on how far off it will be. I think at 70 my speedo read 80. and on the highway, most of the time youll probably be in 4th, at around 3.5k rpms at ~70mph. Now that i run 5.13s with 33s, my truck says im doing 75 at 65, but i got 5th gear back, and she moves alot better.

A bama is a real good choice period, but i woud wait off till all your major mods are done so you can get it calabrated exactly for all your mods. An intake will be more for just having it, wont get any noticeable increase in HP/MPG. Nick's spedo is off by ~5mph at 65 if i remember right

its will be a little more tedious, but it should not keep you from making it up there. just stopping on the hill, and starting from a stop, will be where it might be a pain. but i stopped and started on many bridges, and offroad, didnt really have a problem.
