Wtf??

What is this? It looks like the backing plate has sheered away from the axle. see how the brake lines where twisted around the axle tube. My question now is do i need a new axle or just a whole new brake? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.Name: IM000078.jpg

I guess i forgot to release the parking brake.. gave it a little gas then clunk!!The axle flange is in the way so.. i guess i have to pull the axle shaft anyway.

i did that once, well twice if you count that i killed both sides in the same incident. mine happened way back in 03 with an 03 truck

drunk + 4LO + parkin brake = lots of broken parts

i straightened the axle flange and replaced everything from the flange out. enjoy!

Did you have to pull the axle shaft out? Where did you find the new parts? This deffinitally sucks, Thankfully it was only the one side. Preciate the help!

yup, gotta pull the shafts to replace the backin plate.

i called up a good friend of mine who i knew had a spare axle around with 10" brakes. he sent me the complete brake setup from both sides.
