ssbc rear disk brake kit.

Has anyone here used the SSBC reak disk brake conversion? How was the install and how well does it work? Im tired of my drums freezing and locking up when I use the brakes. Also I cant seem to find if they work on my 8.8 or if theyre made for a 7.5 rear axle. I was going to do the mustang conversion but i'm trying to explore all my options.

I did buy and install the SSBC A114 rear disk conversion kit in January of 2013.
It took a weekend to do.
You have to remove the rear axles, so it's a good excuse to change your differential fluid.
They work pretty well.
They use the same calipers and disk pads as Ford Varga 1987-1991 Ford T Bird Turbo Coupe.
The one thing you have to realize, is that these use the original parking brake cables.
I read where somebody had them installed, and the parking brake cables were too short. There are brackets with these, and the brackets have to be situated so that the original parking brake cable hooks up correctly.
To change the pads is sort of a pain.
You have to take off the parking brake cable, and it remove a bolt, but once you do it once, it's not that bad.
I've replaced the pads once.
The calipers screw in, and I couldn't get them to screw in (even with the correct tool), so I bought rebuilt ones.
I still like them better than drum brakes.
