Greasing U joints

Greasing U joints

has anyone greased u joints on an 98 ranger 4L. I dont have much spare time so i looking for the easiest way to go about greasing my u joints

the only way you can grease a u joint if it has the nipple to grease it other wise they dont get greased IIRC

Yup. No fitting then no grease. I think 98 is when Ford stopped using greasable U joints.

ROFL!! you said nipple


but seriously....it the u-joints don't have grease fittings, they cannot be greased

if they do, just get a grease gun and squirt some in the joint until you start to see grease ooze out

I'm not too familiar with the '98, but IF you have 4WD, and IF your front driveshaft has a double-carden joint, then examine it closely for a flush grease fitting. There are even many dealer mechanics who aren't aware of this grease fitting and so it never gets the attention it needs. It's probably the only place to grease on these vehicles.
