tranny coolers
where are yal mounting your tranny coolers? i am going to spend the cash and get a decent cooler since the truck will see alot of hard use and was thinking something like an aluminum cooler with a fan mounted on front of it..
will i need to tap any holes to run the trans fluid temp gauge? and should it be on the inlet side or outlet side of the cooler? thanks

there is a small 1/8" NPT (National Pipe Thread) port on the side of your transmission that you can put the trans temp sending unit into....it is above the shifter mechanism....do a search for n3elz (John Griggs) write up on a trans temp gauge install....it has it in there......
unless you are going to be doing some heavy duty towing, you wont need a fan on a tranny cooler.....i have a 20,000GVRW B&M cooler on my truck and it does well....you can use the radiator push through mounting setup that comes with 95% of all aftermarket coolers....i have had them on mine for over 2 years without a problem.....
