my review on 33s and 4.56s

just got my gears and limited slip installed this past weekend.
i do not understand why anyone would even want 4.10s and 33s. 4.56s and 33s is not that much different than when the truck was stock. rpms are 2800 at 70mph but thats nothing.

i will reccomend 4.56s for 33s any day! and 4.88s for 35s
and my truck is my DD 4.0 auto.

kinda wish i got 4.88s and a spool haha

Wait till you check your fuel milage after the first tank.......

4.56's are too much gear for a daily highway driven truck with 33's..........even in the city it is too much......

My truck running 35's and 4.56 gears has more power than I need.....I would bet your fuel milage drops a lot....

My truck does fine with the factory 4.10s and 33s.

It's nice to have the torque though. If you don't mind the gas mileage, it's fun to have the lower gears.

I have 4.56 with 35's and that works best for me with my driving mix.

haha i got bigger things to worry about than gas mileage.
even if it drops down to 16mpg it wont keep me from driving or even 10mpg
you dont lift a truck if your concerned about mileage ha.
and it also takes a load off the tranny since it gets the power down easier

Keep in mind it aint so much the rpm change that will affect your mileage, its the added rotational weight of the bigger tires and wheels that will hurt the mileage. Its that added weight that makes the truck work harder and puts more stress on everything else.

at 80 mph with 5speed auto

410 and 31 2668rpm
456 and 33 2788rpm
488 and 33 2983rpm

i think the loss of 300 rpm is worth the extra torque

the difference is your truck is the 3.0........i agree that 33's and 4.56 gears is a good combo for a 3.0, but not for a 4.0.....

no, the 3.0L's power band is up near 3,000RPMS. When I'm on the highway my RPMS are closer to 3,000 while my friends 4.3L its close to 2,000. But I still get better gas mileage than him.
