tranny or transfer case seems to randomly slip into neutral ?

the automatic tranny in my 02 4.0 xlt seems to be in good shape; does'nt slip, shifts positive but not harsh, fluid smells fine, but occasionally, when I've slowed almost to a stop & I try to accellerate it feels as if I've shifted into neutral & when it re-engages it makes a loud clunk. I'm also having trouble with the trasfer case sticking in 4 wheel drive; I have to stop and backup to get it to shift back to 2wd. It's also slow to shift into 4wd. all the fluids are up & replaced recently w/synthetics. the transfer case is electroniclly controled w/ a 3position on dash switch. Just new to the forum, if anyone has experienced this, or has any ideas I'd really appreciate your input. thanks
