Ivisible leak!
So my truck is still in the process of being painted.. but just before i tore it down i started hearing noise. it started at low speeds and sometimes went away, other times it did not. I added gear oil but it only took about 2 pumps then started spilling out. the noise went away for a day, then got worse.. again i added oil and it was fine. except the second time it took more. I noticed gear oil everywhere underneath the bed. which looks like it is leaking with a force..
I checked the vent and its all clear.. any ideas guys?

Pinion is where the driveshaft meets the rear end..where the U-joint is. Hard to tell if that is oil soaked by the pic or not. But if everything like the bed, fuel tank, and muffler are coated, it's a good bet that your seal is junk. If you just recently took out the drain plug and nothing came out then it's not full of water.

I havent looked in a couple days and havent been driving so when its put back together i'll proably do that seal and change the fluid..
Im also not sure if it was leaking before or after i high centered it.. a stump bent the sub-frame backwards and it was hitting the drive shaft joint at the front of the gas tank where the 2-piece shaft meets. I pulled the sub frame back by anchoring it to the shop floor and backing up so it sounds like i could have upset the seal..
