with a 99 you dont have TTB and if you are 4x4 with a 99 then yes the wheelbearings are unitbearings and the whole assembly will just need to be swapped with a new one.

yes i have the TTB, it is a 4x4, and does that mean i'll have to buy the factory 500$ hub assembly from ford just because of my wheel bearing? im just curious if i wasted my time and money buying these AVM Hubs just to find out that down the road i'll need to spend the 500$ regardless, or just do the explorer front end swap

You didnt waste money on the AVMs they are separate from the wheel bearing assembly and the wheel bearing assemblies cost around $250 a piece depending on where you get them. The AVMs don't have anything to do with the wheel bearing assembly if thats what you're wondering, they replace the vacuum operated hub.

You do not have the TTB, you have the 4x4 SLA. TTB was 97 and older, it stands for twin traction beam and that is NOT what you have on a 99 model truck.

BTW what do you mean by explorer front end swap?

NO sorry you do not have a TTB 4wd suspension in a '98 Ranger......'98+ Rangers have the SLA a-arm style 4wd suspension.....the TTB 4wd suspension was last produced in '97.........

lol.....but your asumption did make sence.

Your upper joint is non replaceable.......the joint is built into the arm.......and new upper joints come with a new arm. So you just replace the arm. The Moog ones have the arm and joint...but the joint is replaceable, so long as it's replaced with a Moog joint.
