When they get really bad you can move the wheel around. Im guessing that when the noise goes away is because the wheel has moved.

Best method is to remove the brakes, outer tie rod, and then the wheel bearing.

The orange snap ring most likely will need to be destroyed to remove it. I haven't had good luck with the 2 wheel bearings i have done. I ended up using a small flat blade to break the snap ring and needle nose vise grips to pull the rest out.

I your in need of ball joints or brakes this is the time to that stuff.

Right and left are the same part, just make sure to get the wheel bearing for a pvh truck.

I have done one side on jack stands with hand tools, and the other on a lift with air tools. It can be done either way.

If your only 2 weeks into the grinding noise you got while to go before the wheel will be moving around.

I did my first bearing around 112k and second at 125k.

I highly recomend a new snap ring and this website.

http://www.fordpartsonline.com/

roughly 225 shipped a side with new snap rings. The snap ring is about 12 bucks.
