idk, i like them, because they match the rest of the black on the truck so well, but at the same time, i could imagine it would look really clean without them.. hmmm

off, or replace them with the newer style 4x4 sticker.

I went to a dealership and got Sport Trac 4x4 emblems for $9 a piece

Up in the air on it, off would look OK but leave it sort of blank.

Thinking on it… OFF !

I Was thinking the same on my f150, but they dont bother me enough to remove them plus sometimes the mark still shows they were there when you remove them

So does anyone know how to remove it, or is it just a matter a getting the adhesive to let go?

I removed them on my truck with a heat gun and razor blade. They came off super easy. I just barely got them warm as its easy to get them too hot and really make them gooey. Once I got one corner up they peeled off in one piece. You couldn't tell any paint fading on my 04 DSG truck either.

*BE CAREFUL* if you are useing a razorblade on the paint i would recomend just useing you fingernail or somethng softer that will not gouge the paint if you slip up.

done!

looks way clean, i like it.

pass side came off very easy. but the driver side was a PITA. left a bunch of residue. tried adhesive remover goof off a razor blade etc. but the thing that finally got it all off was rubbing compound.

btw used a heat gun for all of this and that worked wonders.
