new paint job

was wondering how much it will cost for a complete new paint job. i got home and found out that someone had hit my truck and scratched up the side of it and dented in the door. i have very minimal rust on the rail and the bumpers. my truck is currently blue was wondering if i i could get an estimate to get it painted red and the bumpers black. thanks for any help.

A quality factory paint job for the entire regular cab pickup. I estimate $2,000.00. Yes you can get it done cheaper. But cheaper is not better when you are talking about prep, block sand, prime, block sand, prime, seal, paint, add three coats of clear, color sand, buff, and reassemble the pickup.

I would say $2,000 is on the low side for a quality job. About five years ago I paid $3,000 and did all prep work myself. All the shop did is shoot the paint.

add extra for a color change, esp if you want all the door jams, under hood, inside the bed, back of cab, etc. done. on top of that, red is one of the more expensive colors. i say min $3500.

Probably only a couple hundred for the door and less if you do the prep work. Look at the local junkyards around you, and maybe you can find a door that matches your truck already.

yea hopefully ill figure out who did it and get some money from them. i think i can get a lot off myself havent tried because i want to leave it on until its reported. then ill try and find a buffer to get some of it off my truck. really frusturated that someone would do that and leave it without leaving a note or something.

I got a macco paint job for my '69. I think it cost around $400. It turned out great and never had a problem with it. Not all Macco paint jobs are crappy. I did all the body work and primed it.

I saw a old Challenger with a $15000 paint job. I don't know how much body work needed to be done, but it was a beautiful car

i have more than that in just supplies for a factory color. that doesn't include any labor to sand or shoot the color. in the end, you will get what you pay for.

Do you really think a quality paint job can be got for around $2k? If so, I'll drive to Dallas -- just tell me where specifically, please.
