PLEASE Help Clarify Tonneau Cover Dimensions for me!!!

i found a black hard tonneau cover for my bed- possibly. it's on craigslist right in my area.

in the ad, it says this...

"It came off a ford ranger splash pickup truck. It may fit other small pickups with a 6 foot bed.It measures 55" wide and 76" long"

does that sound about right for the dimensions? i've never owned one before, so i don't know how much it's going to overlap the top sides, etc...

if anyone with a cover or who knows could please clarify for me, i'd appreciate it a lot!

thanks guys!!

damn... Starting at $830?!? this guy is asking $175.. i was gonna offer something lower because he said the lock doesn't work.

yes i know. that's what i have. when i read the ad, it caught my eye and thought it sounded like it was a little too wide to fit a splash bed.

yeah... now my only concern is why a splash bed isn't listed, but he claims it was off a splash. the dimensions he listed are smaller than that of a fleetside, which is good. i dunno... i think i'll email him again and ask him if he's certain it'll fit a stepside.

lol. i know, i know. if i had time, i would go look at it. it's about 22 miles away, but about an hour's drive one way because of where the guy lives. i can't afford to waste 2 hours driving around fitting covers, etc, lol. as it is i can't even find the time to go pick up an OHC from an RF member on here who lives just as far away, lol.

22 miles straight INTO and THROUGH Philadelphia, lol. i know 22 miles is nothing... hell i've ran 22 miles in my sleep, lol. it's 76 that's a *****. you get on that and either go straight through, or sit for days, lol.. it's constantly hit or miss.

on a side note... i emailed the guy, made an offer, and told him i'd come pick it up whenever possible if he accepts... so we'll wait and see!

he wants $175 for it.

it has a small chip in it, which the pics show. it's missing two of the mounting hinges, and the lock doesn't work. the struts are on it, but he says he doesn't know if they work, but assumes they do.

i'm going to pass on it.... it sounds like it needs too much work to bother with it.

sounds easy first have him give you the serial # underneather it. call the company and get all the prices on the stuff. then offer the guy $120... like i did.. same situation.. mine was $50 in parts so i got my cover for $170 total... not bad for a $1100 cover... so what if there is a chip thats what touch up paint is for
