Ranger meets mailbox...

Well, I was leaving a friends house last night and backed into a brick mailbox at a pretty quick speed. My fiend lives on a really awkward curve and I just never saw the damn thing. Mailbox was fine, truck wasn't. I've got the new taillight on the way from RockAut, but I've got a pretty hefty dent where my bumper crushed my fender. how do you guys suggest I go about pulling out, or at least making the dent less noticeable. I'm gonna rhino line it around the bottom, so it wont show as bad and I can take care of some of those rock chips.

PICS!:

Yeah, it was one of those big brick monstrosities you see in nice neighborhoods.

Bummer but no big deal, perfect time to upgrade to LED tails and get a steel roll pan from Grant customs and have the shop weld it in when you fix the lower rear fender. The paint will blend perfect. Or on the cheap you can get a bottle jack and a peice of wood 2x4 and try to push the dent out.

Were you doing a reverse burnout because your tires are bald?

Looks like you were going a little to fast in reverse.

Good job!

There's tons of ways to pull that out. It probably won't look the same ever again unless you do some serious grinding and bondo work, but like it was already mentioned before: You can try to use a rubber mallet to bang it back out.

I've also seen people drill a hole in the middle of the dent, stick a bolt through it, put the nut on the end, then yank on the bolt to pull the dent back out. Of course then you'd need to bondo the hole.

+1 for LED tails!

Well I'm pretty low on money at the moment, so my plan is to get the dent out as best as I can, maybe even with the bolt thing, and then bondo it. Then rhino line it all around on the lower part of the body. I'd love to be able to do led tails, but they're too expensive right now. I'm just a poor college student lol. I ordered a new tail from rock auto yesterday, so hopefully we can get this show on the road.

I still need to get the rhino lining and work on that dent, then get some tubing or box steel and weld me up a new bumper..!
