starter cyl. question

I am about to replace my girlfriend starter cyliniod in her 99 4.0 auto ranger. The truck has only 21,000 on it because her grandfather owned it and it just sat. One of the wires was loose and it has been arching to the point were it melted the connections. Any ways I have replaced alot of starters and the such over the years but never one in the ranger. I know I need to pull the starter to do this. My question is..is there anything special I need to keep in mind with these trucks when removing and re-installing the starter.,,,besided dissconnect the battery?

If you are replacing just the solenoid there is no reason to pull the starter.
The solenoid is mounted on the driver's side fenderwell.
