leaving kit

ok so i want to put new torsion keys in my 01 4x4 xlt 4.0 and my buddy did it to his and he said it worked great. but i hear on here that keys suck just to crank them and i honestly think that cranking them is worse cuz it puts more pressure on the bolt. so let me know what you people think cuz with the keys i get a lift and the ability to crank the keys too so wouldnt that work better? just want to know what people have to say.

Your not putting more pressure on the bolts. By cranking the torsion bars you are adjusting the position of the key. You angle the upper and lower arms downwards creating lift but it will excelerate front end wear. Torsion keys like the eBay "leveling kits" are doing the exact same thing. The difference is the "lift" keys allow you to over crank the torsion bars putting a fcukload of stress on your front end components.
Don't put in the lift keys. You can acheive the same result by cranking the stock bars

I'm not just a pretty face lol! I'm in trade school to be a mechanic so I understand all the bad things the keys can do to your truck. I cranked my torsion bars to clear 33s.

Ok Im listening but don't the new keys have a bigger lip on them giving a higher stance at the same bolt position?

The bolt pattern means nothing. Its how much stress is being put on the bar, ball joints, tie-rods, etc. Those are the parts that wear out, not the bolt.
