3rd gen bed onto 2nd gen

Hey guys i have a 92 Ext cab shortbox truck, and my brother has a 95 stepside that he is parting, the bed is in near mint condition, mine definately needs some work. I was wondering if anyone has done this swap? Dimension wise they look very close. I'm interested in doing the bed swap and the Perrys F&F 2000 Conversion. Anyone know if this is pretty much a bolt in deal? Thoughts? Thanks

bodylines are gonna be off.. but i'm not sure if gen 2 ranger has the same frame as a gen 3

body lines will be off but they will fit

the frames didn't change until 98

damn, that was fast. body lines i could really care less about..they're gonna look tweaked anyhow with the fiberglass fenders, so i'll probably just leave the body lines. maybe i'll shave em if i get ambitous enough. lol. i was more concerned about whether or not the bed would hit the cab. thanks alot guys

ive seen this on a truck in my town... after it was all painted up it actualy looked prety damn good... i guess cause its a step side the body lines arent as noticable... definetly looks prety good...

cool man. maybe if you get a chance do you think you could take a pic? i've seen a stepside bed on a toyota hilux in town here, and like you said the bodylines aren't really noticeable because it's a stepside

found a pic , finally. i think it looks ok on the 2nd gens..not the greatest but i plan on doing the front clip update and i think it should look great after that and paint. i did end up picking up the box, and i'll be tearing mine off soon, but i think i might wait until i am ready to throw my 63" leafs in as well, and do everything all in one shot. the leafs are off of a 2500 diesel, 4 leaf pack but i have been told they sag a little..i'm going to throw a belltech chevy lowering shackle set in there as well, take out the factory lift blocks and see where i end up. if im not happy where it sits, i'll throw the blocks back in..but i don't see that happening. need some levelling coils soon too. money, money, money ..lol

that does look prety good...better than the one that ive seen... i think the 2 tone draws your eyes away from the body line...

It's pretty tempting as i could probably get access to a lift but cabs are kind of hard to come by here. That, and this truck is kind of my daily driver while i build up my Honda, and can't really be without a vehicle for more than a day or 2.

i would love to do a body swap for a 94 onto my 91 and then do an the newest possible nose on the truck...

Yea, dash and drivetrain are the same. Less stuff to mess with.

I'd like to switch my front end, but too much money into that. If it ever gets wrecked, then I will. I hope It doesnt though.

yea but i have no idea how to do it... and cant now because of my injurys from the wreck... thats why its at the body shop and im not fixing it..

So here it is...a little trial fit. I still need to paint it flat black or something low-key for the time being so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I just need taillights and then I'll throw the thing on. For now, Im just driving around boxless.

Side note...Got tires put on this thing a couple months ago. Wanted 215 75 15s, just noticed yesterday it had 215 75s on the left and 225 70s on the right...was effin pissed. it's all good now though, just lucky i didn't grenade a diff or a transfer case. I hate Canadian Tire.
