Best type of welder to learn on

I wanna start doing some fabrication, what would you guys suggest I start out on thats geared towards auto stuff?

General all around use that you will never outgrow (unless you start a fab shop) my vote would be Hobart Handler 210. Can add a spoolgun for Al, burns sheetmetal to 3/8"+. Great all around welder. Northern used to a sell it with the spoolgun for under 900.

Whatever you do go 220V and one of the "big 3"...Lincoln, Miller, or Hobart (REAL close to Miller but more of a homeowner type machine).
