supercharger experts i need help.....

ok guys this isnt for my ranger its for my Model A Ford. we are gonna run a 60hp Ford Flathead V8 in it. Dad and I are wanting to run a supercharger on it. a small Roots style one something that only puts out around 3-4 PSI. anything you guys recommed to find one off of like some import car?... manifolds arnt a problem so dont worry about that i just need the charger...

thanks guys...

i dont know of any imports that will use a roots supercharger. takes too much HP to turn it to be worth the gain. same for your flathead. 3-4psi wont get you past the parastic losses of turnin a roots blower.

you could try a turbo, since you say manifolds arent a problem. any small turbo would work well with the small ports on a flathead. IHI from a tbird, T25 from a dodge, some small mitsu turbos on imports, etc. you will hafta find a different wastegate actuator for any of them to get down to 4psi, but the stuff is available.

Im not sure what type of supercharger it is, but a friend of mine has an 89 MR2 with a factory supercharger, you cant look into newer MR2's though because they put turbos on the 90's bodystyle, then went to N/A for the current platform. Good luck with your search! About the bonneville/impala supercharger, I *believe* those put out 40-60hp (not sure about PSI), as a N/A 3800 series II would put out 200hp, then if you get the supercharged version they run anywhere from 240-260hp, but gobs more torque.

if you find the right size pulley, any supercharger will put out 3-4psi

i would run a m62 if anything. if you arent looking for much psi, you still need enough volume to acommodate the v8. Even at 3-4psi the 62 is still a little on the small side. What are the cubic inches on that v8?

You should definately run at least a m62. The pulley size depends on the size of your harmonic balancer or crank pulley. It also depends on your intake setup and engine size. There are soooo many variables, I couldnt begin to tell you a close diameter on the pulley.

What is the static compression ratio, bore, & stroke of this motor?

(I know a thing or twenty about boosting motors )
