Thats the only thing I am still trying to get used to about my new truck. The 6 speed shifts so early. 1st gear really bugs me...

1st gear bugs the crap out of me on mine since re-gearing. It is tuned, but needs a new tune with a different shift program.
My problem is, with the rear detroit locker, I try to pull out from a side street fairly easily so I'm not barking the tires. By the time I get nearly straightened out and get into the throttle it's in second gear, pisses me off. I can either get into it a decent amount and listen to the intake drone, or stomp on it and make it downshift to first again.
I'd bet my truck shifts through as many gears as yours would leaving a big intersection under lighter throttle, but mine would run out of gears at that point. haha

I never had an issue with shifting in the 2 hour test drive I had. It always seemed tinbe in the gear I needed. It held first longer and seemed to shift like i drive. When the woman drove it it shifted real early and often for her. It learned and changed in like two city blocks. I thought it was amazing. The best part was pawing on the freeway. Sucker stayed right in it's power band.

I've already started saving for an FX4 with the air con seats for your *****. I still can't get over that it will cool and heat your *****. You might think that's just a little cool. But it's not. It's freaking amazing. Should be standard on all cars. Nothing like never having sweaty ***** on long trips again.

x2 I worked on a 2010 MKS with the heated and cooled seats. It felt amazing.

You are one of the lucky ones! I LOVE my 05 FX4 SCREW. it rides smooth, it carries the family and friends and basically does everything i need it to do! HOWEVER. i miss my ranger EVERY day lol.

I miss having a truck that I modified and built the way i wanted it,and im not entirely sold on the idea of lifting and modifying the f150 for off-road use. If i could get my ranger back i would, but the dbag kid that i sold it to has already wrecked it twice

Hah, it's hard to get rid of any vehicle once you put a lot of time and money into it, that's for sure. I didn't get a chance to do anything to the Subaru, and I was glad to see it go. Zero regrets with that one. lol
I see our jetta that was wrecked every now and then. It has been fixed and looks great although not lowered any more. It is depressing to see someone else with it!
When I got rid of the ranger and then the sport trac, I never saw them again. Probably easiest that way!

i would miss mine if i sold it because as much as i love my F-150, my ranger is so much more fun to drive and it will wheel circles around my F-150.

Yeah my Ranger wasn't anything special though, 2wd 3.0 FTL haha. If it had been a decently equipped 4x4 I'm sure I would have missed it a bunch more.
