getting exhaust for the f150

i couldnt remember if i posted this up before or not. i searched through my subscriptions and couldnt find that i did. so here goes.

im tired of the exhaust that the guy put on before i got it. it sounds ok at low rpms but in the higher range when i excellerate or put my foot in it it sounds like garbage. idk if i can afford the stainless kits, but it all depends on how much a local shops want for their install. if its close or about the same ill just get the get or just get dual turndowns now and add pipe when i can afford it. ik i like the sound of the mbrp and the roush offroad. i like the sound of this guy named darren on youtube with his magnaflows, but its true dual and thats the only vid i can find of magnaflows on a 5.4 that sound good. does anyone know what any of the loud flowmasters sound like like the super40 and super44? or are there any other suggestions to exhaust? thanks and i apologize if ive posted this before i just couldnt find it if i did. links to vids would be great too

I don't know, I don't like particularly loud exhaust, but there is a video on f150online from a couple days ago with a magnaflow single side exit. Sounds great to me.

Magnaflow would be my choice. I like the Borla a lot too. I'll never have another flowmaster though, just personal preference.

I agree, I will never buy another flowmaster.
Here is the Magnaflow video. Keep in mind this was taken the same day the guy installed it, it will get a little louder. Also different sized magnaflows will be louder. Personally I wouldn't want it much louder, it would be obnoxious like most everyone's truck around here. lol

Too bad your not closer, I'd sell you mine for under that. I want to switch to a single out setup for some reason lol.

Cheapest route would just buy the muffler from Magnaflow Performance | Discount Performance Auto Parts | Performance Exhaust Systems | Flowmaster Performance Mufflers and just get it welded in place.

I'd look into the borla and dynomax mufflers, seen a bunch of good setups and sounds while browsing F150online

I love my banks exhaust... that is always an option...

Banks Power Gale Banks Engineering 48743 - Banks Monster Single Exhaust Systems - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Magnaflows are always great too. I personally love Magnaflow in every aspect but I love the looks of the banks kit, I like the sound as well. I prefer SI/SO systems though.

so im lookin into the kits and the only one i can really afford that i like is the mbrp. i found some custom exhaust ones that i like but are true duals. can you make a single muffler sound similar or what? and i really like the sound of the mbrp but would rather not spend 400 on an exhaust. if they sell just the muffler would it sound the same as the kit?
