Hi, i am thinking on buying a 2006 ranger sport with the 3.0 and 5 speed, 2wd. It has 75000kms and is in really good shape. Its the bright blue color, has chrome steps, boxliner, etc. It actually looks like new. Also comes with winter tires. I can get it for $7300. What do you think of this price? I think it is pretty good. What kind of gas mileage can i expect out of this truck as i don't drive hard at all? Any problems i should know of for this year truck? Thanks.

 

I'd say go for it. I drove a loaner 3.0 super cab for 3 months, with an automatic and got 22-23MPG with 75% highway driving so mileage should be better with a 5-speed. I actually prefer the 3.0 over the 4.0 unless you tow heavy loads and then a 4.0 w/automatic would be a better choice...but with the price of gas I'd stick with a 2.3 or 3.0 especially if your tow/haul requirements aren't a priority.

 

Thanks for the response. One of my friends has one the same but a 2008 and he gets anywhere from 25-28 mpg. He doesn't drive fast and is easy on the gas. A friend of mine is going to go check the truck out for me since it is far from where i live.

 

Very good price for that truck, I'd go for it if everything looks good.
