Pissed off [w/ pics]

So i got my new wheels mounted and balanced the other week, driving home from the drive-in last night and hear a clunking noise up front. I was close enough to home I just took it real easy and pulled in. Took a look up front and see the wheels covered in brake dust and apparently about to fall off. Couple of the studs were sheared off. Looks like the pads were digging into the rotors and the wheel was about to come off. I'm assuming my tire guy put the lugs on too tight or didn't balance them properly and perhaps it wiggled itself loose and warped the rotor. Either way I'm pissed and the wheel is ruined and the truck will need some work. Luckily it didn't come off while I was driving but I believe the tire shop is at fault and I'm hoping they'll pay for most it.

Are the lug nuts deep enough for the studs?

tighten them up or call the shop ***** and make them send a tow truck out for it.

Wooo

I had the same problem last year, cost me around 200 dollars just to have them torch the old lug nuts off and replace the hub.

Um, you need to check and make sure the lug nuts are deep enough and that the center bore of the wheel is wide enough for the wheel bearing or else your wheels are being supported by the studs.

I would diffently go back to the place you got your tires put on by, i know if it was my truck those F'ers wouldnt get away with it and i would not be paying a dime to fix it either.

It shouldnt matter about his lug nuts, if there qualified tire guys, they should know better, come out and be like listen man, these are the wrong nuts etc etc. So....they cant turn that around on him like well "we didnt know those were the wrong ones" be like well your certified right, you should have known better
