Bahhhhh
my buddy offered me $2500 cash , hes the one that did a LOT of the work on my SAS.
My truck needs
-Head gasket/machine work OR a new engine
-Tranny is starting to dump
-Clutch/Slave crapping out
-suspension and steering need to be redone.
Hes gonna drop a 350 in it and make it a mud truck.
$2500 is a nice down payment on a new truck. Maybe a downpayment and a jeep frame/tub to build.. I also have access to a cheap 95 ranger body and frame i could build off of.
This hobby is just soooo damn expensive. my head is so twisted up right now i just need to vent it. I know pretty much everyone here is gonna say keep,a and i want to, but i would prefer not redoing everything and just starting over in a year or two.. until then i can tow people around in exchange for a seat.
i cant make a clear decision. either way i'm gonna be torn up.

How much money do you have? IDK about up there but around here ranger engines are always on CL for pretty cheap, only issue I could see would be where are you gonna do the swap? IDK if it was me I'd probably just keep the ranger and try and get it worked out. A new truck = payments & you wont be able to have fun driving it on trails.

I'll be towing my buddies rigs around in exchange for splitting fuel and a seat... easier to drink beer when your not trying to drive

Do the cash for clunkers and get you a nice tow rig, then split a big gooseneck between a few friends and have a dang good time!
I pay dearly for my truck but every penny is worth it especially when you sit in the drivers seat...and for me its cheaper to run than my truck, I was fixing stuff all the time in the ranger!

Dohhh, didn't put 2 and two together lol
Will a jeep even qualify?
You coudld do what I did, just sell the ranger and get a used tow rig...probably still cheaper than cash for clunks and a new truck. I mean I could have got 9k off a dodge, but still sticker is 56k...so 47k financed, no thanks!
