As to Ford vs Chevy. your on a Ford Ranger Site so your going to get more votes for Fords than anything. But i do see Chevy's with more problems than I do Fords. My friends dad has a 1500 5.3 and the lifters are messing up real bad. hes going to have to replacing them. He also had to replace the gauge cluster and fuel sender. My buddy's S10 as already had a engine replacement from a blown head gasket that the previous owner neglected. It also spits water pumps out ever few months and his leaf springs sag. Fords on the other hand. Mine has only needed a replacement Odometer and Power window motor. My dads has had several Fords. None which ever had much problems with. Still had to be taken to the shops because he wheeled in them but nothing that he didnt cause. I will say the GM does build some nice luxury trucks but when it comes down to a truck for work, Ford does it better.

When it comes to sports cars from both companies, They are even. The 03 Cobra and the 02 SS are very nice cars with not that much weight and can be modded to make very high horse power.

Its really in the Chevy guys' blood to talk trash about Ford. Its been that way for years and it will probably never stop. Both companies are good and make decent products. All it is, is opinions and lemons.

Your point? The Z06 is supposed to be a god on the track. So what if the ride isn't as smooth, that is a luxuey you give up when buying a sports car.

ford gt has a twin turbocharged 5.4L v-8 has 1000 +

Ford GT is supercharged not turbo charged and it does not make 1000 hp. Those are modded GT's.

The ZR1 rapes the GT in all categories.

i really like anything American made. it just depends on the model of the vehicle to me, not brand. my friends all love dodge, its all they ever talk about so i know you you feel. i like all full size trucks when it comes to lifting trucks but the only smaller truck i want for that is a ranger or maybe dakota. really they all break eventually so what does it matter?

Oh rly...top speed of 118, and a 1/4 time of only 11.4. Hardly close to all categories.

EDIT: The 11.4 time was posted by the World Rally Car...production model was a 16.0.

In reality, it lagged in the power-to-weight ratio in comparison to other vehicles. Also, the engine produced low-RPM lag which made it difficult to be competitive.
It weighs 2600lbs and only has 250BHP??

I love how so many of you guys think one car is better based on a 1/4 time.

The original turbo on the RS is laggy compared to todays turbos. Did you see the "top gear" Rs200? Keep in mind the Rs is 20+ years older. It has much more engineering, and engineering potential.

Gearing Gearing Gearing...

The thing was designed for off road, not quarter mile.

It's one of those cars I consider to be "sealed" for performance from the factory.

I dunno if I would agree that it has much more engineering...maybe for its day. Cool car, but it would have to be the Evo edition against the ZR1.

So you have a rally car?

Can Hear Every Valve Rattle On Long Extended Trips

A mechanic friend of mine says he likes Fords, they keep him business, but I never see one in his garage, but I see a Monte Carlo, a camaro, and a S10 parked off to the side of his garage, been there for months.

I like Fords myself, raised up with them. dad grew with 3 '40 Fords in his early years, I had 3 '66 Mustangs during my early years. I've never owned anything but Fords. I don't critisize friends for driving other brands, I let them found out for themselves. Each brand has its flagship and each brand of garbage. Some just smells worse than others

You should remind him of the 73-87 GM Pickups that had the gas tank on the outside of the framerail. In a side impact accident, the tank would get punctured and catch fire.
Of course, Ford had this issue with the Pinto but there were way more incidents with the GM trucks. The worst part is that GM knew this would happen, but they did it anyway because the could fit larger gas tanks on the truck...

The crappy tires were proven by Motor Trend not to be the problem for the accidents. The problem was stupid drivers that either slam on the brakes as soon as they get a blow out or turn sharply to get to the emergency lane. The guy could also bring up the cruise control fires then the recall on the recall.

Every car has a problem just some have it more than others
