Traded my baby in. :guilty:

My truck rolled to 164k. I was having tranny issues, rear end issues, and an ongoing front end vibration. I was looking at around 3 or 4k dollars to fix. the trucks worth 3500. So I decided to move on. I was wanting to keep it and keep as my play toy, but things didnt work as I wanted them to. I traded it in for an 04 GMC Envoy Xuv SLT. I know, I went to the dark side, but with a good price, and better mileage, I couldnt find anything better for the time. I was wanting something bigger than the ranger, Im 6'1''. I was comfortable in it, but if I every wanted to go anywhere, my friends would be piling in the bed. Its 2wd, but that will keep me from trying to wheel it. I'll post pics in the pics section as soon as I detail this weekend. Oh did I mention it had the 5.3 V8 in it. hehe. makin a sleeper outta this one. Then buying another ranger down the road when I get more finacially stable for my offroad toy.

You'll like the Envoy...I just sold my Trailblazer SS a couple weeks ago, they're good trucks.

frustrated

Finalized everything today, to find out tonight that the engine has a skip, the tranny has a clunk, the back speakers dont work. Basically im a dumbass, this was my first vehicle purchase. Im going back to the dealer to check and see if they will fix it, if not, I was trying to get a opinion on if ya'll think this scenario will work.

I found a 04 envoy with the v6 and its 4wd for 13,998 at carmax. My loan is for 13,993. the Nada clean trade in value for the one I have now is 15,500. Do you think it would be possible, if the current dealer doesnt want to work things out for me, to take my current envoy to carmax, and make an even trade?

I'll be the first to say, im an idiot for not checking around. Correction, I said that to nicely, im a dumbass.

Dude! You bought this thing with all those problems? I test drove my heep 3 times and stood under it for an hour in the dealers shop checking things out. Hopefully they will help you out, but I have a feeling you maybe stuck with it, unless... Don't GM used vehicles have 100,000 mile powertrain warranties now? I would look into that.

As far as a trade on the other goes, I don't think they are going to give you what you owe, so you might as well count that scenario out...

My father has a Buick rainier with the same engine you have, what exactly is the problem? His just had a lifter (yes a lifter) replaced with only 34,000 miles on it...

EDIT: BTW, its not a V6 its a straight 6.

it has a skip at idle. Not necessarily a full on miss, just enough you can feel it in idle range up to 1500rpm. I took it to the ford dealer where I got it, and they told me that they would handle it for free on monday. Also told me that if I didnt feel safe driving it, they would give me a rental for free until it was fixed. It was tempting, but I want to continue driving the envoy to see if any other issues arise.
