Who said 2wd can't mud?
Today was fun! Went and hit some trails and found this nice little mud pit. Me and my buddy when through it like 4 times each and didn't get stuck, the mud was a good 6-8" deep with leaves and debris. Both of us have 2wd, his is an f-150 long bed.
So I felt stupid. I was like, lets see if I can get stuck, I've got straps and jacks and there was a piece of plywood off to the side of the trail. I run through it slow and halfway through I gun it to throw mud. Stuck. It was stuck 12" in the mud.
So we threw on the straps...nothing, not even a budge, we actually broke it where the hook is.
So we jack up one tire and dig around it and throw logs and rocks under it and same for the other side, throw the plywood in front of the pass tire and give it some tugs. It gets on the plywood and throw more rocks under the stuck tire. One more tug, the broken end of the rope is tied around my frame, only about 1/2" width left before it snaps, he tugs and I ease it and i start moving i said gun it and out we came.
This all happened as it was getting pitch black. My girlfriend is calling everyone and only one guy knew someone with a truck big enough to pull, but my buds f-150 pulled through.
I'm making a checklist. Next time bring a shovel...Digging with your hands sucks!
All in all it was fun. Tons of huge mud puddles to run through. It was close to the road so there's always help within half a mile.
